What People Make with the Fabic I Sell – Dawn Chorus Designs

Yvette from Dawn Chorus Designs started making cards a couple of years ago, she was trying to find a use for all the vintage fabric and playing cards that she has collected.  Initially made them for just family and friends, the  positive feedback encouraged her into producing cards to sell.

Both cards are made using 1940’s or 50’s cotton dress making fabric in small prints which compliment the playing cards well.

Dawn Chorus Etsy store opened recently and she has a facebook page too.  Her cards are also framed  as gifts.

This lovely cushion brooch uses a variety of Liberty cotton lawn fabrics, such as  found in these  Liberty fabric bundles. Liberty designs are perfect for work such as this as often the patterns are small scale and the cotton lawn fabric is so fine and light to work with. Liberty of London are internationally recognized as leaders in fine cotton dress fabrics which they have been making since the 19th Century.

This vintage Sanderson cotton fabric is a design called  small wonder  from 1981  and  is perfect for showing off Vicky’s  pretty floral brooch made from a variety of  buttons and vintage fabrics including Liberty and Sanderson.

More vintage Sanderson fabric is being used here as background for linen labels. The design is Little Chelsea in soft blue and pink colours.

Vicky is a busy lady who writes  interesting blogs about her business and life in general,  her  facebook page  has lots of interesting links to her blogs and Etsy shop.
