Over the last few years Lorraine has been buying mixed bundles of fabric from me, making unusual and interesting things with it. Here are some of the finished products which she makes and sells at her local craft fairs in the Cotswolds.

Beautifully finished padded hearts often scented with rosewater made using different designs of tweed and liberty prints.

Cosy cushions using 1950’s basket weave cotton and unusual edging and a great children’s quilt in a farming theme.

Wonderful stuff.. I look forward to seeing what else this talented needlewoman will produce.

Their latest collection includes one called ‘petunia’ using a Sanderson print ‘petunia trellis from the 1970’s  and one of my favourites ‘the island’ in exotic red prints, including a 60’s design by Edward Pond.

What People Make with the fabric I sell – ‘The Village Hippy’ Gifts and Clothing

I met  Lindsey of  ‘The Village Hippy’ on facebook some time ago. Such a lovely person with a kind and positive outlook on life.  She makes great bags, hangings and memo boards using vintage fabric, buttons and bindings.

Here is one the memo boards she made with linen fabric she bought from me, the design is ‘flowers waltz’ a 1960’s design from Jonelle.

Recently she has turned her hand to dress making and like everything she does, makes a fabulous job of it.  The finishing of this ‘buttercup’ Doris dress is wonderful. She has adapted a vintage pattern and used 1970’s St Michael  yellow daisy fabric for the sleeves, frilled hem and binding.

This blind is one Jo wants to keep for herself and I don’t blame her, it makes a real statement and goes so well with the teal coloured tiles..
